Commission accepts Emery family donation, plans restoration fund

WEYMOUTH — Historical Commission accepts Emery family donation, discusses restoration fund management. Chair James Clarke opened the January 13 meeting with members Cathy Torrey, Harrison Carrter, Kerri Donnelly, Steven McCloskey, and Anna Bagdonas present. The commission unanimously approved its December 2025 minutes and received a $1,000 donation from the Emery family.

Clarke proposed creating a dedicated account with commission oversight of restoration funds. Editorial responsibilities for the commission's newsletter, which has 160 subscribers, are transitioning from Kerri Donnelly to Harrison Carrter. Vice Chair Cathy Torrey reported Weymouth received $1,167,636 from the Community Preservation Committee in 2025, with two approved applications awaiting Town Council action.
