WEYMOUTH — The Budget/Management Committee voted unanimously to refer Jonathan Moriarty's reappointment to the Zoning Board of Appeals to the full Town Council with favorable recommendation, despite four complaints filed March 2 about his conduct during funeral home zoning hearings. Town Solicitor Rick McLeod defended Moriarty, saying hearing recordings showed he treated participants with dignity and respect. Committee Chair Gary MacDougall said he had received separate complaints from residents.

Moriarty, a Zoning Board member since 2010, said he had never received a prior complaint. The committee also voted unanimously to refer Lisa Webb's appointment to the Community Events Committee.
