Ordinance Committee advances three health-establishment licensing ordinances

Town Council · Meeting of February 11, 2026

Weymouth Ordinance Committee unanimously advances three health-establishment licensing ordinances. The committee approved measures to regulate massage establishments, mobility studios, and bodywork establishments, with amendments to clarify effective dates and enforcement authority. Chair Ken DiFazio, Vice Chair Gary MacDougall, Council Vice President Fred Happel, and Councilor Carrie Palazzo supported the measures.

Town Solicitor Rick McLeod recommended the effective date be set to when the full Town Council passes each ordinance, giving businesses until July 1, 2026, to comply. All three measures were referred to the full Council with favorable recommendation.
