School Committee approves superintendent for South Shore Educational Collaborative

Weymouth School Committee approves superintendent for regional education board. Superintendent Melanie Curtin will participate on the Board of the South Shore Educational Collaborative effective July 1, 2026, in a 5-0 vote with Committee Member Danielle Graziano abstaining due to a perceived conflict of interest involving her daughter's attendance at the collaborative. The committee approved two bill payments totaling $1,872,530.83 (bills 46-2026 for $1,135,754.02 and 48-2026 for $736,776.81) unanimously.
In other business, the committee heard public comment from Teamster 653 representative Michelle Majchrowicz requesting that union language protecting current driver wages and benefits be added to the transportation bid scheduled for public opening on June 22, 2026.
