Town Council approves nine board appointments, refers six measures to committees

Weymouth Town Council unanimously confirms nine board appointees. The council voted without opposition to place Arthur Burns on the Cultural Council, Timothy Cronin on the Community Events Committee, Amy Geary on the Commission on Disabilities, Daniel Johnson on the Memorial Committee, Cynthia Morrison on the Board of Health, Jon Osterman on the Redevelopment Authority, Sean Riley on the Board of Zoning Appeals (Alternative), Michael Salerno on the Board of Elder Services, and Christine Nickerson on the Waterfront Committee. The council also unanimously approved revised Town Council Rules and Regulations for 2026-2028, including changes to align public comment rules with state court precedent on civility restrictions, and voted unanimously to submit a letter to the state delegation requesting support for updates to the Chapter 70 school funding formula and reimbursement for $3.8 million in municipal snow and ice removal costs incurred during winter 2026.
