Town Council approves three health and safety ordinances on massage, bodywork, and mobility studios

Weymouth Town Council unanimously approves three ordinances regulating massage, bodywork, and mobility studios. The Ordinance Committee, led by Kenneth DiFazio, recommended passage after Acting Health Director Teryn Hermenau documented violations including human trafficking and prostitution at such facilities. The Council also unanimously approved two Community Preservation Act funding requests totaling $133,860: $116,000 for Abigail Adams Birthplace roof restoration and $17,860 for Old South Union Church bell restoration, both drawn from the Historic Resources Fund.
In addition, the Council unanimously transferred $31,000 from the FY26 Reserve Fund to the Fire Department Equipment line for turnout gear and airpack repairs, bringing total appropriations to $164,860.
