Weymouth holds community preview of Stetson Street four-unit townhouse proposal

WEYMOUTH — February 4, 2026 — Weymouth previews plan to replace historic Stetson Street triple-decker with four townhomes. Mayor Michael Mellis hosted a community informational session February 4 on a proposal by attorney Kim Crow of Baker Braverman Barbadoro, representing developer Sean Hardy, to demolish a mid-1800s three-family at 8 Stetson Street and build four 720-square-foot townhouse units, each with two parking spaces. The project requires a finding of no increased nonconformity and a lot-coverage variance for an impervious driveway; the building's proposed height of just under 33.5 feet falls below the 35-foot R1 maximum. Residents Kathy Swain and former councillor Pascal Berg pressed the team on the absence of a landscaping plan and heat mitigation measures, while abutter John Eby voiced outright opposition, citing winter sun loss and fears of ledge-blasting damage to his home. Planning Director Bob Luongo announced the application goes before the Zoning Board of Appeals on February 25 at 7 p.m. at Weymouth High School.
