Weymouth School Committee advances four policies on first reading

Weymouth School Committee unanimously approved $2.9 million in warrants and advanced four governance policies to second reading. Superintendent Melanie Curtin reported that Seach School earned the 2026 Safe and Supportive Sensitive School award from Lesley University, while wrestling won a three-peat Bay State Herget Division I championship and boys hockey captured back-to-back divisional titles. Weymouth High School was awarded a Quincy College Early College Planning Grant.
The committee advanced policies governing staff gifts and solicitations, student fundraising activities, parent and booster organization compliance, and school wellness programs to second reading. A 19-person strategic planning team met to develop a three-year district vision.
