Weymouth School Committee sets superintendent evaluation timeline for spring

WEYMOUTH — December 8, 2022 — Weymouth School Committee agrees on January 12 start for superintendent evaluation cycle. The committee, meeting December 8 for the last time in 2022, reached informal consensus on a schedule working backward from a June 5 contract deadline for Superintendent Rob Gerardi, with individual evaluations due May 25 and a public presentation set for June 15. Member Steve Bouchergras pushed for a built-in opportunity for Gerardi to review and respond to assessments before they are finalized, saying "it's not fair to just submit a bunch of feedback, compile it, hand it to him." The committee also unanimously reappointed Tracy Nardone as its representative to the Town's Scholarship Committee and approved Warrant 22-20-2023 for $1,357,352.68. During public comment, Danielle Graziano of Ralph Talbot Street told the board that support staffing for special education students is "hemorrhaging" and that her son and others are not receiving the specialized instruction they need.
