Weymouth shifts farmers market and concerts to Tufts Library for 2024 season

WEYMOUTH — March 25, 2024 — Weymouth officials unveiled a packed 2024 community events calendar, highlighted by new venues and a sharp rise in food truck interest. Ted Langell, Chief of Staff to Mayor Bob Hedlund, hosted a March 25 episode of "Town Talk with Ted" alongside Taryn Hermano, health and wellness coordinator and farmers market manager; Donnie Norton, deputy director of event facilities; and George Raymond, director of What's Up Weymouth. The farmers market moves to Wednesday evenings at Weston Park at the Tufts Library starting June 12, and the summer concert series — featuring Divas with a Twist, Draw the Line, Booty Vortex, Ayla Brown, and Fair Warning — will be held exclusively at that same location beginning June 20. Food Truck Fridays return May 3 at the Ralph Talbot Amphitheater with more than 25 vendors signed up, up from roughly 12 to 15 in prior years. A new indoor concert, Choir! Choir! Choir!, is set for May 16 at Chapman Middle School, and the formal reopening of Columbian Square in South Weymouth will anchor a second village festival later this summer. Sponsorships ranging from $100 to $10,000 are available through events@weymouth.ma.us.
