Weymouth Conservation Commission Approves Three Orders of Conditions at January Meeting

WEYMOUTH — January 25, 2022 — Weymouth's Conservation Commission approved orders of conditions for three properties and issued a negative determination for a fourth at its January 25 remote meeting. Conservation agent Mary Ellen Schloss guided commissioners through approvals for 59 Lakeview Road, where a dilapidated home will be demolished and rebuilt at an elevated FEMA-compliant grade with 754 square feet of native riverfront mitigation and a two-year monitoring requirement; 138 Lorraine Street, where a retaining wall and backyard fill will address chronic ponding under conditions requiring shed removal and native plantings; and a residential pool at 445 (street partially inaudible), where applicant Sean Sullivan shifted his proposed pool location after engineering raised slope-stability concerns near an eroding wetland bank. A commercial tree-pruning request from Riverside Properties received a negative 3 determination with standard conditions. The Mass Pond seven-lot subdivision had its public hearing closed but its order of conditions deferred to February 22 pending revised drainage swale plans and deed-restriction language to permanently protect an average 64-foot wetland buffer; 113 trees larger than 6 inches in diameter are proposed for removal within the 100-foot buffer zone. Staff also flagged a compliance issue at 19 Perkins Road on South Cove drinking water supply, where an unapproved fence was built through a required mitigation planting area and the patio exceeded its permitted size.
