WEYMOUTH — November 19, 2024 — Weymouth Conservation Commission issues compliance certificates and hears water supply warnings at November 19 meeting. The commission unanimously approved a partial certificate of compliance for the completed Cornerstone Weymouth project at 1197 Washington Street, where Gabe Crocker and Joshua Green of Crocker Design Group represented applicant Elksey Development LLC, and a final certificate for 200 Libby Parkway, represented by Josh Kleinman on behalf of Fox Rock 200 Libby LLC. Conservation staff recommended referring an unresolved wetlands hydrology dispute at 1325 Washington Street to the state Department of Environmental Protection after peer reviewer CEI concluded it could not definitively link construction at the Hanover development to observed changes in the water table without pre-construction monitoring well data. Resident Kathy Swain presented data showing Whitman's Pond streamflow has met recommended herring run levels only 50 percent of the time over the past 20 years, and raised alarms about a draft environmental impact report committing the town to provide up to 450,000 gallons per day to base redevelopment before MWRA service arrives — a concern that sharpened on a day Massachusetts declared a Level 3 drought.
